At Story Book Cottages we are focused on building a cottage that fits your custom needs. Care is given to understand and address your needs. Our goal is to create a home that you are going to be happy with well beyond your possession date. We have developed a process to help guide you to the realization of your dreams.
Sharing Your Dreams
This is the beginning of our relationship. We will listen to your needs and requirements to get an idea of the type of cottage you will be happiest in. Setting up your end goals from the beginning will insure the cottage we build at the end is in alignment with your dreams.
Whether you have completed plans or not even a rough sketch, this is where be begin building your dream.
Setting Your Dreams in Motion
Taking your goals and dreams and translating them into plans and specifications is what this step is all about. From the look of your exterior to the number of bedrooms, we work with you to gather the details needed to start building your cottage. We take care of completing the paperwork and permits. We will help you bring the details out of your dreams.
Laying the Foundation
Your dream is now taking shape. We will excavate your site and form the foundation, a solid base for your dreams.
During this time we will finalize the design of your kitchen, electrical and plumbing layouts with you. We will also help you decide on your floor covering and wall colours.
Framing
Your dreams are reaching higher as we start to build the rooms, walls and roof. We will install the exterior windows and doors. This will secure your cottage from the elements and intruders.
At this point we need to make a decision on your lighting fixtures. We will also review our list of specification to insure finishing items will be built correctly.
Rough-Ins
Now we start adding the intelligence to your dreams. We will install the electrical, security, network, telephone, cable and entertainment wiring as well as the plumbing and vacu-flow pipes.
Again we will review the placement of all of your fixtures to insure that they are as pictured in your dreams.
Drywall
You will see the form and function of your house take shape as spaces are created. We will be insulating and providing further moisture protection for your home. Just sit back and enjoy.
Finishing
The end is in sight as we start to install your cabinetry, interior doors, baseboards and casings. The paint is applied and the floors are covered. Your appliances are installed as well as your electrical and plumbing fixtures.
At the start of this stage we will be able to give you possession date. The realizations of your dreams are near.
Possession
We will make the formal introduction to your new home. We will go over a detailed checklist to insure that everything is complete and in order. We will be sure to address any of your concern within two weeks of your move in date.
Warranty
We are a member of the New Home Warranty program. Our relationship continues through your warranty period. We want to insure your happiness and stand by what we build.
